Effective date: July 14, 2026
Math Battles ("the app") is a math practice game. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and how you can request it be deleted.
Account identifier. When you play, the app creates an anonymous player ID so your scores and progress can be saved. This happens automatically — you don't need to create an account to play Solo or Casual mode.
Optional sign-in. If you choose to sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple (required only for Ranked play), we receive a display name and, depending on what you choose to share with Apple/Google, an email address. This is used solely to identify your account and is not displayed to other players, sold, or used for marketing or advertising.
Username. A name you choose, shown to other players on leaderboards and during matches.
Gameplay statistics. Wins, losses, ties, scores, and answer accuracy for each game mode, so you can track your own progress over time.
ELO rating. A skill rating calculated from your ranked match results, used to match you with similarly-skilled opponents and to determine your leaderboard rank and tier.
Leaderboard entries. If you play ranked, your chosen username and ELO rating are visible to other players on the public leaderboard.
We do not collect or access: your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not use your data for advertising or marketing. There is no in-app chat or messaging between players — the only player-chosen text visible to others is your username.
Unity Gaming Services. The app is built on Unity Gaming Services, Unity Technologies' cloud backend for authentication, save data, and leaderboards. As part of operating these services, Unity's infrastructure may use your device's coarse, IP-based location (accurate to city/region, not precise GPS) and basic technical usage data (such as crash reports and general app usage) to run and maintain the service and diagnose problems. This is not used to track you personally, build an advertising profile, or share with third parties for marketing.
Your information is used only to operate the app's features: saving your progress, calculating stats and ELO, and displaying leaderboards. We do not sell your information or share it with third parties for advertising. Gameplay data is stored using Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies' cloud backend for authentication, save data, and leaderboards), which operates under its own security and privacy practices.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently removes your saved stats, ELO ratings, and username, and cannot be undone. Your entry may briefly remain visible on public leaderboards after deletion; contact us using the information below if you'd like it removed manually.
Math Battles is offered as an optional practice tool and is not required for any coursework. It is intended for use by students roughly high-school age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, contact us using the information below and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
